The Buffalo Project
by Matt P.

At Fermilab a committee has started a buffalo project. The buffalo project reminds us of what the prairie looked like before the settlers. The reason Fermilab has this project is because the buffalo are endangered. So Fermilab got a herd of buffalo from Colorado, Illinois, and some from South Dakota. They live in a fenced-in pasture east of the magnet facility. The buffalo are a herd of about 90 head. Fermilab hopes to develop a big enough ecosystem to support the herd of buffalo on restored prairie land.
