Need to Know If the cause of the fish kill was water-related, could it be due to something suspended or dissolved in water? What types of substances can be dissolved or suspended in water? Which ones are potentially harmful to aquatic life? What is the cause of the Riverwood emergency? What are possible emission sources upstream from the dam? What happens to water as it goes over the dam? Do any additional substances become dissolved in it? What is the nature of the bubbles found in the fish? What substances might harm fish but not humans? Could the fish have died from a deficiency or overdose of a natually occurring and necessaray substance? How do we know how pure a sample of water really is? (presence of contaminants that cannot be detected with the unaided senses?) How much water do we really use? Where is the earth's water? Where does our water come from? |
