Mini-Lesson: Using the Project Rubric

Purpose:

To practice using the ACT Project Rubric and thus become familiar with its expectations

Lesson:

Let's take a look at the ACT Project Rubric. This is the rubric that will be used to assess your finished project, so we want to be sure that you know our expectations.

• What are the major categories in the rubric?
• Are the targets clear and realistic?
• What is the difference between "developing" and "meets?"
• What is the difference between "developing" and "not present?"
• Does this rubric assess all of your work in this class?

Apply the rubric to a sample project provided by the facilitator. We will assess the project according to the sections on the rubric, taking one section at a time, allowing for questions/discussion as we progress.

Task/Assignment:

Group sharing: Project and implementation plan presentations will give you opportunity for more practice using this rubric. Your facilitator will provide you with more specific details.
