Rules and Code of Ethics for Computer User's

• Use of the computers is limited to educational purposes
• Use of the network to develop or download programs that infiltrate a computer or computing system and/or damages the software components of a computer or computing system is prohibited
  • Example: Downloading a game is unacceptable use
• Hate mail, obscene remarks, discriminatory remarks, harassment, and other anti-social behaviors are prohibited.
• Attempts to use other people's passwords or access other people's files is prohibited
• Copyrighted material must not be placed on the School District's computer system without the author's permission. Only authorized school personnel will be allowed to download programs onto the system.
• The district's technology coordinator may access other person's files when necessary for the maintenance of the computing facilities. When performing maintenance, however, every effort will be made to insure the privacy of the user.
• Any user who does not comply with the rules and code of ethics for This school district computer use will be disciplined as follows:
  • Computer privileges will be suspended for 60 school days.
  • Referral to the principal's office for disciplinary action depending on the severity of the offense will take place.
  • Repeated infractions will result in permanent termination of computer privileges and further disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the administration.
• The district may modify the acceptable use policy as the need arises.
