What is engaged learning?

Engaged learning places the responsibility of learning back onto the learner. A well developed lesson that will interest the students can help ease the burden of direct teaching and allow students to discover on their own. It requires hooking the students in at the beginning, then allows them to interact with a number of resources (including experts in the field).

It takes time to develop a solid lesson using engaged learning; however, there are many sites on the inter-net that already have teacher made curriculum available in every subject area.
