Search engines and directories are programs that are designed to go out into the Internet and search for the information you have requested.
A search engine lets you do a keyword search if you know what subject you're looking for.
A search directory contains a simple menu that lets you search for items by category.
Activity: Divide into teams of two members each.
- Each team will choose to learn about either Yahooligans! or Searchopolis.

Hints and Tips for Searching the Internet Yahooligans! Searchopolis
- When each team has mastered its search tool, all teams will regroup.
- New teams will consist of one Yahooligans! expert and one Searchopolis expert.
- Teach your partner how to use your search tool.
- When the teams are done, each member will be an expert in using both search tools.
