INSOLATION(Sunlight hitting the Earth)

DAILY INSOLATION for the United States --

- EASTERN UNITED STATES --Examine a full color display of the amount of solar energy reaching the ground for states east of Colorado. Data and images are available for earlier dates as well as today's values.

- WESTERN UNITED STATES --Examine a full color display of the amount of solar energy reaching the ground for states west of Kansas. Data and images are available for earlier dates as well as today's values.

INSOLATION GRAPH --This graph shows the incoming solar radiation over the last 750,000 years for summer in both the tropics and at high latitude. Included is information about ice ages.

SOLAR INSOLATION TABLES --This chart features low, high, and average solar insolation in kilowatt-hours per square meter per day in many US locations. Numeric data is listed by city and state for the United States. Includes maps for yearly average insolation and a current four-week average insolation.

INSOLATION VALUES --Insolation values for locations world-wide gathered by weather stations. This is useful for calculating the minimum expected insolation and comparing locations around the world.

SUN POSITION CALCULATOR --This sun position calculator will give the time of sunrise and sunset for any date and location world-wide! It will also plot a graph of the Sun's elevation and bearing over the course of that day.

CURRENT SATELLITE IMAGE OF THE UNITED STATES --Obtain current satellite images for North America including the 48 contiguous states. Find out where the clouds are!

UNITED STATES SOLAR ATLAS -- Map sources of solar data for months, compass direction and location. Readings are in BTU's per square meter(BTU/m2)
