Office of Education and Public Outreach: Amanda Early

Amanda Early is an Education Program Leader managing the K-9 physical science workshops and field trip programs, high school physical science teacher workshops, the Family Open House and Wonders of Science. Prior to joining Fermilab in the summer of 2016, Amanda was a science teacher for seven years. Most recently, her courses included Forensic Science, Zoology, and Biology I at Byron High School. Prior to teaching at the high school level, Amanda also taught courses in Earth Science, 8th grade physical science, 7th grade life science, and Project Lead the Way. While teaching, Amanda participated in Fermilab's Particles and Prairies workshop and was a member of the second DOE ACTS cohort in 2010.   

Amanda earned her Master of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with a Specialization in Teaching through Northern Illinois University. Her action research focused on Problem-Based Learning and the Next Generation Science Standards. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
