Welcome to the Photoelectric Effect Virtual Lab. Today you are going to investigate this fascinating phenomenon.

Before proceeding, make sure that the computer you are using can run the spreadsheet program Excel.  Though you needn't be familiar AT ALL with using Excel (or any spreadsheet for that matter), the Virtual Lab needs Excel to execute its commands.

Most of the information you will need is contained within the links above.  Your teacher may have had your read the "Background" information. It contains a very brief history of the photoelectric effect and a short discussion of some current applications.

The "Users' Guide" will describe the software and allow you to download the software when you are ready.
