Colombia
The Topics in Modern Physics Workshop, a one-day course sponsored by Fermilab and Universidad de los Andes, was part of the 1991 Expociencia, the National Science Fair in Bogota, Colombia. Twenty-five physics teachers attended the Workshop. Juan Pablo Negret, a Colombian scientist doing research at Fermilab, and Patrick LaMaster, a physics teacher from Fermilab presented the workshop.
Professor Julian Urrea-Beltran, Universidad Pedagogica Nacional, attended the 1992 Topics in Modern Physics Institute at Fermilab. Upon returning to Colombia he conducted three teacher enhancement workshops on Standard Model attended by a total of 37 high school teachers from across the country. Two more workshops were held in 1994. |
