The Summer Institute for Modern Physics is now in its nineth year. These three to five day programs in Particle Physics, General Relativity and Cosmology (and in 1991 Solid State Physics and Nuclear Physics), held in Mexico City, are cosponsored by ESIME-IPN Friends of Fermilab and Fermilab. Over 1400 physics teachers and students participated in the Institutes. The IX Institute for Modern Physics will be held in June 1996 at ESIME-IPN, Mexico City. Saul Tellez Minor and Guillermo Luicillo Ramirez, ESIME-IPN, are the leaders of these Institutes.

North American Symposium on Fractals, Chaos and Dynamics at Fermilab, August 2 - 6, 1993, was attended by three professors from Universidad Autonoma de Puebla.

Leon M. Lederman Award was established in 1992 by PROFISICA, Mexican Association of Physics Teachers and is cosponsored by Fermilab.
