On October 2, 40 educators from 15 school districts met at Fermilab to discuss the status of science education in the context of state and national frameworks. Districts were selected at random from DuPage and Kane counties, and superintendents selected a team to represent the district at the workshop. The group provided input to the Education Office regarding future program direction.
Given the current budget restraints, the Education Office has adopted the following modest program goals:
Goal: Extend or build on existing programs to meet needs identified by educators.
Goal: Develop new resource materials.
Goal: Expand the Education Office audience to include High-energy physicists nationwide.
Goal: Take advantage of new tools in program delivery.
