Programs

Fermilab Friends for Science Education, in partnership with Fermilab and area educators, designs and conducts programs to enhance the teaching and learning of science and mathematics at the precollege level. FFSE holds assessment workshops with educators to determine local needs, writes funding proposals and provides appropriate assistance during the conduct of the program. FFSE has, since its inception in 1983, sponsored more than 30 programs; most of them are still offered today.

With support from our members, donors and occasional grants, FFSE supports its mission to connect educators, students and families to the unique resources of Fermilab when federal support through the lab may not be available or appropriate.

In addition to our annual programs, Fermilab Friends for Science Education is proud to honor an individual from the Fermilab staff whose support to education and public outreach is exceptional beyond the usual level. This award was formerly known as the Director's Award from 2004-2016.
