Fermilab provides internships for teachers and students who apply directly to Fermilab or through the Department of Energy. Fermilab also has international partnerships with institutions in foreign countries that are responsible for selecting students. Below are the internship programs for which Fermilab selects the students.

Current 10-12th grade students with preference to 11th graders.
For 10th & 11th graders in Illinois.
For community college students.
For physics & engineering majors in European countries.
For juniors and exceptional sophomores in physics or engineering at U.S. institutions.
For under-
represented minorities majoring in STEM fields at 4-year U.S. colleges.
For U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents in physics or engineering.
For military veterans to intern as a technician to provide routine technical support for an experiment or group.
For Hispanic, Native American and Black U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
For faculty members with option to bring students.
