Index of Projects

The students used to go to the library to use books to research information on ten animals--mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds. They created a zoo on paper. It had to include a map and basic information on each animal. The students did not share their projects with each other. They were turned in for the teacher to grade. The students had to tell why the animals were classified into the phyla, but they did not learn to functionally classify the animals themselves.

Created for the Fermilab LInC program sponsored by Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Education Office, Friends of Fermilab, United States Department of Energy, Illinois State Board of Education, and North Central Regional Technology in Education Consortium (NCRTEC) which is operated by North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL).
