This project was designed for middle school students as part of a study
on energy. We wanted students to understand the issues around energy and
some of the benefits/problems related to alternative energies. Learners will be in heterogeneous
groups selected by the teacher. Students will be involved in a variety of
tasks which include searching the Internet for information, conducting energy
audits, contacting NREL scientists, using
NREL's databases and communicating with other students. They will do group
evaluations and keep daily logs of work accomplished.
