Teacher Resource Center: STEM and NGSS Resources for Educators

School district administrators, teachers, teacher librarians, university faculty, pre-service students, home school educators, the Teacher Resource Center is a one-stop location for an extensive and up-to-date collection of resources. The TRC provides a preview collection of Pre-K-12 STEM instructional materials and professional development resources you may utilize onsite.

Educators have access to core and supplementary curriculum materials, books, digital resources, educational supply catalogs, periodicals and newsletters. The collection also includes reports on science and mathematics education, standards, assessment, equity and other topics. Staff is available to assist science, mathematics and technology educators with curriculum and instruction issues.

  • The TRC provides an opportunity for you to develop a strategic plan for a STEM, mathematics or science curriculum.
  • The TRC uses Standards for Professional Learning to design and guide customized professional development. Through our membership in ASCD, Learning Forward, NSTA, NCTM and other professional associations we can provide information on best practices and research-based strategies.
  • The TRC builds relationships and works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, professors and preservice teachers as they develop and implement quality science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs for all students.

Check out our Resources for NGSS and STEM Fact Sheet (/trc_new/fact-sheets/TeachersResourceFactSheet.pdf). To learn more about our institutes, look at this poster titled "Implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards - Science and Engineering Practices", presented at Smithsonian Science Education Center, 2015 Regional Leaders Meeting.

The TRC is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. You may also schedule an appointment to use the TRC during Saturday hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
