Extended Activities

These are extended activities that can be used while studying the Constitution.

#1.Research current events in the newspapers to find events or persons relating to their topic on rights. 

#2.Create their own bill (based upon a concern) and make it into a law.

#3.Students will create a multimedia presentation using Hyperstudio to link to the Internet *

#4.Given several real life situations, students determine if rights are violated and then research the Constitutional Amendments for support. Students must present both pro and con sides of the situation. The purpose is to keep students focused on moral issues as well as legal ones. Here are a few suggestions that teens will relate to:

#5. Research their "rights" using the internet as well as third party software such as Encarta, Grolier, Comptons, and the World Book. 

#6.Communicate with legal advisors in reference to their topics, via e-mail and a legal clinic. 

#7. Study history of the Constitution based on Constituitonal Questions and Answers by Sol Bloom.
